Itinerary

Our path leads us through the Šar mountains to the Mavrovo National Park, from where we head towards lake Ohrid and the national parks of Galičica and Pelister. After passing through Greece and Albania, we return to Macedonia to the town of Struga by Lake Ohrid, where we will take the opportunity to relax and enjoy the nightlife in this resort.

From Macedonia, we rush along the road to Greece to the region of Western Macedonia, and the picturesque town of Kastoria, which is situated on one of the most beautiful and deepest lakes in Greece, lake Orestiada. On the peninsula, there is the 'Dragon's Cave' which, according to the legend, is filled with gold, but the dragon has scorched all who tried to take gold from the cave. Those who wish can try to seize the gold, while others will wait to see if the dragon exists or not.

In Albania, we pass through two national parks, the largest being Fir of Hotovë-Dangëlli, and then, along with Tomorr National Park, we rush back to Macedonia. From there, following the Black Drin river, we head towards probably the most famous national park in Albania, the Valbona Valley. However, we will not go into the valley but rather to the Doberdol plateau, from where we descend towards Tropojë (Have you seen the movie Taken from 2008?), from where we enter Kosovo.

We quickly pass through Kosovo along the road with a possible short stop in the town of Peć, after which we ascend the winding road to the Montenegrin border crossing Kula, which is located at an altitude of over 1700 m above sea level.

On the same day, as we leave the plateau of Doberdol heading towards Kosovo, we enter Montenegro where we conclude our journey. We finish it in the town of Berane or Kolašin, depending on the circumstances. Both towns are located in a ski resort.
